GUST and University of Ottawa Sign Landmark MOU to Foster International Collaboration

Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Ottawa, marking the beginning of a strategic and forward-looking international partnership.

The agreement was formalized during a visit from a distinguished delegation from the University of Ottawa, led by Professor Jacques Beauvais, Provost. The delegation also included Patrice Coriveau, Associate Vice-President, International; Annick Bergeron, Secretary General; Dean Stéphane Brutus of the Telfer School of Management; and Matt Archibald, Director of Undergraduate Programs.

This collaboration paves the way for several immediate and impactful initiatives that will enhance the academic experience for GUST students and faculty:

  • Specialized Learning Opportunities: GUST MBA students will have the opportunity to enroll in a course in Digital Entrepreneurship at the University of Ottawa, while undergraduate students will gain global exposure through summer academic sessions in Ottawa.
  • Cybersecurity Training: A six-week intensive cybersecurity program will be offered to students and staff, hosted at IBM’s Cyber Range Lab at uOttawa. The program will conclude with Fortinet certification—an industry-recognized credential in the field of cybersecurity.

These initiatives are just the beginning. Both institutions are working closely to expand the scope of this partnership to include 2+2 and 4+1 academic pathways and the development of customized professional development programs. These will be offered in collaboration with uOttawa’s Professional Development Institute and tailored to meet the evolving needs of both the public and private sectors in Kuwait.

This MOU represents a significant step forward in GUST’s mission to provide globally relevant education and create new opportunities for academic and professional growth.
