Summer Scholarship Program

About GUST's Competitive Summer Scholarships

Each year, GUST offers its students a number of competitive summer scholarships to enrich their academic experience through international study. GUST’s summer scholarships are open to all eligible students. The summer scholarships are awarded tuition for six academic credit hours, a round-trip airline ticket (economy class), and a support allowance.

Eligibility

All interested students must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be a full-time GUST student
  • Must have earned and completed 60 credit hours & above following the spring semester
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Must be in good standing as per GUST Student Code of Conduct
  • Must not have a financial hold on the account
  • Hold a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), or 60-78 (internet-based); or IELTS 6.0

How to Apply

Interested candidates must submit the following documents to the Office of International Programs (N1-212) before the announced deadline:

  • Completed application (shared during the announcements)
  • Personal interest essay
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Official GUST transcript
  • Copy of a recent TOEFL/IELTS score (valid for 2 years since date test was taken)

Things to Note

Eligible candidates must have the intention to return to GUST as full-time enrolled students following their summer study at any university.

Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) is a public research university in Rolla, Missouri, USA. It is a member institution of the University of Missouri System. Missouri S&T was founded in 1870, the first technological learning institution west of the Mississippi River. GUST and Missouri S&T signed an agreement for research and development, student exchanges and faculty exchanges. Scholarships for master's and PhD programs for GUST students.

GWU

George Washington University (GW or GWU) is a private federally chartered Research University in Washington, D.C. USA chartered in 1821. GUST offers a fully funded scholarship program for its excelling students to pursue a semester at the George Washington University.

NUS

The National University of Singapore (NUS) is a national public collegiate and research in Singapore founded in 1905. GUST-NUS exchanges scientific materials, publications and information for the joint research collaborations.

BU

Boston University (BU) is a private research university in Boston, Massachusetts. BU was founded in 1839 by a group of Boston Methodists. GUST-BU collaborates for research centers (Center for Applied Mathematics and Bioinformatics - CAMB)

ESC

Rennes School of Business (ESC) is a French Business School located in Rennes, the capital of Brittany, founded in 1990 by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Rennes. GUST-ESC collaborates for Student Exchange, Faculty Exchange and Joint Research Programs.

NTU

National Taiwan University (NTU) is a National Public Research University in Taipei, Taiwan founded in 1928. GUST-NTU collaborates on exchanges of Scientific Materials, Publications, Joint Research Activities and Exchanges of Faculty and Staff.

SUN YAT SEN

Sun Yat-sen university, also known as Zhongshan University, is a national public research University located in Guangdong, China. It was founded in 1924. GUST and Sun Yat-sen University collaborates for Faculty Exchanges, Students Exchanges and Joint Research Activities.

UCSD

The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) is a public land grant Research University in San Diego, California, established in 1960. GUST offers its students a fully funded scholarship program to study at UCSD for a semester. The collaboration between UCSD and GUST also includes Research and Development Activities.

UMSL

The University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) is a public Research University in St. Louis, Missouri. Established in 1963, it is the newest of the four universities in the University of Missouri System. GUST-UMSL collaboration includes Institutional Academic Services, Summer Scholarship Program, Faculty Exchanges, Research and Development Activities.

NTUT

National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT) is a public University in Taipei, Taiwan. Established in 1912, NTUT is a member of the Global Research & Industry Alliance of the Ministry of Science and Technology. GUST-NTUT collaborations includes Students and Faculty Exchanges, Joint Research Activities, Exchanges of Researchers, Staff and Scientific Materials, Publications and Information.

uOttawa

The University of Ottawa, often referred to as uOttawa or U of O, is a bilingual public Research University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The collaboration between GUST-uOttawa offers a 2+2 program for GUST students.

UAM

The Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) is a Spanish public University located in Madrid, Spain. The University was founded in 1968 by royal decree. GUST offers a fully funded scholarship program for a semester at UAM. The collaboration between GUST-UAM also offers opportunities for Joint Research Activities, and Faculty Exchanges.

AUE

The American University in the Emirates (AUE) is a private University in Dubai International Academic City in the United Arab Emirates. The University was founded in 2006. GUST-AUE collaboration offers Dual Degree Programs, Students Exchanges, Faculty Exchanges, Research and Development Activities.
