Math 094 (for English majors) Beginning Contemporary Algebra
This course is a review of basic mathematical concepts and applications through the use of a variety of problem-solving techniques which includes fundamentals of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in problems involving whole numbers, integers, fractions, decimals, ratios and proportions, percentages, geometric measurements and formulas, related algebraic equations, and expressions. Emphasis is placed on analysis and solution of application problems. Credit earned cannot be used for graduation.
Math 095 (for Business/MCM majors) Beginning Algebra

Math 096 (for Business/MCM/Engineering majors) Intermediate Algebra
This course is a review of algebraic concepts and applications through the use of a variety of factoring techniques, graphing linear equations and inequalities, systems of equations, and an introduction of the main concepts of polynomial, rational and radical functions. Emphasis is placed on algebraic techniques in order to successfully complete Math 111 College Algebra. Credit earned cannot be used for graduation.
Math 098 (for Computer Science/Engineering majors)
This course is intended primarily to prepare students for calculus. It focuses on graphing, defining, describing, combining and using functions in real life application. The functions emphasized in this course are polynomial, exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric. The students will acquire fluency in working with them which will be necessary for their success in a calculus course. Credit earned cannot be used for graduation.
