The mission of the English Foundation Unit (EFU) is to provide quality language instruction to non-native English speakers with an emphasis on the language skills necessary for academic success .

Goal
The English Foundation Unit is designed to introduce, develop, and refine students’ English language skills to succeed in university and beyond.
Student Goals
Students who complete the English Foundation Unit will demonstrate a working ability to:
- Comprehend written academic-level materials.
- Comprehend spoken academic-level materials.
- Write, revise, and edit academic papers.
- Plan, revise and deliver formal presentations as well as communicate in academic settings.
