About the Faculty Member

Dr. Rawan Eid graduated from the Department of Biology, Kuwait University with a B.Sc. in Science with a major in Molecular Biology and a minor in Statistics in 2007. Dr. Eid then Obtained her MSc degree at the Royal Military College of Canada in 2013. The main project she was working on Analysis of The Programmed Cell Death Pathways Regulated By Human Ribosomal Protein L9 in Yeast. In 2017 Dr. Eid obtained her Ph.D. Degree in Genetic Science, From Queen's University, Canada. The main project in the Ph.D. was Characterization of Novel Anti–Programmed Cell Death Human cDNA Sequences in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. While pursuing her Ph.D. degree, she worked at Queen's University as a Teaching Assistant in the Introductory Biology of Cells course and Analytical Genomics course. At the lab, Dr. Eid was monitoring and supervising Master's Students and senior undergraduate students. Besides, she gained three scholarships in a row from 2014 to 2017. Queen Elizabeth II Scholarship in Science and Technology in 2014-2015 from the government of the province of Ontario. This award is competitive and is given to only the top 20%.
