Erasmus+ Program

Erasmus+ Program

The new Erasmus+ programme (2021-2027) was launched on 25 March 2021. Erasmus+ is a world-wide programme, which started over 30 years ago with intra-European projects to boost internationalization across Europe’s borders. Since 2014, Erasmus+ has acknowledged the need to boost internationalization at world level. The previous programme 2014-2020 had a strong international dimension, supporting projects for cooperation or exchange between Europe and the rest of the world. In the current programme 2021-2027, the international dimension of Erasmus+ will be further strengthened, building on the success of the existing key actions and expanding internationalization to other sectors.

A webinar on the EU Jean Monnet Programme was held on Thursday 8 April 2021 at 10 a.m.- 12:00 Kuwait time.

Global Studies Center Faculty attended a webinar under the title "How to participate from the GCC in the 2021 Erasmus+ / Jean Monnet call for proposals".

EU Jean Monnet Module is designed to promote excellence in teaching and research in the field of European Union studies worldwide. The Module also fosters dialogue between the academic world and policy-makers, in particular with the aim of enhancing governance of EU policies. European Union studies deal with the study of Europe in its entirety, with particular emphasis on the EU dimension, from an internal but also from a global perspective. European Union studies also cover the role of the EU in a globalised world and in promoting an active European citizenship and dialogue between people and cultures. Jean Monnet is expected to bring positive and long-lasting effects to the participants involved, to the promoting organisations, as well as to the policy systems within which they are framed.
