Welcome to the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), the academic heart of the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST). In this college’s vibrant environment, you will find a rich diversity and dynamic intellectual community of faculty, staff, and students where you gain high-quality education which spans the humanities, sciences, and social sciences. The CAS is made of the five Departments of Computer Science, English, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mass Communication and Multimedia, and Mathematics and Natural Sciences. We offer internationally recognized and accredited degrees in a total of 5 majors. The Computer Science program is accredited by Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The Mass Communication and Media program is accredited by the American Communications Association (ACA). The general education courses in English, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Mathematics and Natural Sciences are in the process to be accredited by the American Academy for Liberal Education (AALE).
GUST is a highly ranked university in the Arab world and the region and as the largest college within the University, the CAS is a major driver of this excellence. With a network of diverse faculty members spanning the global community, the College derives new strengths through its partnerships – local, regional, national, and international by supporting research and teaching initiatives that engage with issues facing our broader communities.
We leverage our strengths to provide a friendly and productive environment for faculty and students alike. The CAS further ensures that students have equitable access to the opportunities available, so they can prepare for success in their degree. We support researchers in seeking seed funding, and research that enables faculty to build partnerships across disciplines. We uniquely promote undergraduate research activity through faculty/student mentorship and collaboration.
