Navigating Library Resources & CREDO Reference: A Successful Library Workshop at GUST
GUST Library conducted a workshop on navigating library resources in collaboration with the English Department, led by Wadhhah Ahmed, Digital Content Specialist. The session focused on the CredoReference database as a source of credible information, which includes eBook versions of dictionaries, encyclopedias, guides, and other references to support users' research questions.
In today’s world, with the explosion of information channels, the proliferation of AI tools and other advancing technologies, the credibility of resources is constantly in question.
It was fascinating to explore students' perspectives on information overload, AI, credible resources, academic integrity, and more. The library wrapped up the session with hands-on practice, allowing students to apply what they learned.
The library would especially like to thank Dr.Hala Tayseer AlMutawa for organizing the workshop and Dr. Shahd Alshammari for her support. Wadhhah also expressed his sincere gratitude to Professor Bassam Alameddine, J'Amy McCracken, and Dr. Asmaa Alduhaim for believing in her recommendation to adopt this beneficial platform.
The library is very grateful to all of the English teachers who came or encouraged their students to come. With a full house of attentive and excited attendees, the session was a huge success.
