GUST Library Celebrates International Open Access Week

GUST Library Celebrates International Open Access Week

This Internationa Open Access Week, GUST Library featured an interactive display showcasing the impact of Open Access on research and learning, centered around this year's theme, “Community over Commercialization.

In line with the educational mission and commitment to UN Sustainable Development Goals 4: Quality Education, 10: Reduce Inequalities and 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
GUST community were encouraged to share their insights on promoting and supporting open research and resources. This initiative provided an excellent opportunity to gather valuable recommendations from our community and allowed the librarians to have enlightening consultations from faculty.

At GUST Library, we believe research holds its greatest value when widely accessible. Guided by this principle, we’ve integrated several key Open Access resources into the GUST Library Search Catalogue.

If you are interested in exploring the topic of Open Access, we recommend the title Debating Open Access, a collection of eight articles by leading academics and publishers that reflect on the challenges of open access. Edited by Nigel Vincent and Chris Wickham. Click here to read.
