Celebrating Creativity: Launch of Kan Ya Makan published from GUST University Press
The GUST library recently celebrated the scholarly publication of Dr. Shahd AlShammari's book Kan Ya Maka: Tales from Kuwait, which features the best student stories about Kuwait. The narratives range from gothic to surreal to satirical, celebrating the creativity of the youth and providing a platform to share these texts with the world.
Kan Ya Maka is a coproduction of GUST University Press and Platinum Press, the publisher of this books also participated in the scholarly event.
During this event, GUST University Press was also officially launched. The press will publish a variety of materials, including conference proceedings, newsletters of research centers, handbooks, fiction, and poetry. Additionally, it plans to release various monographs on local history and culture.
The scholarly event celebrating the publication of Kan Ya Maka: Tales from Kuwait was hosted by the GUST Library. The organizer of the event was Library manager J’Amy McCracken, she played a key role in coordinating the event, inviting participants, and ensuring its success.
