Climate change performance, environmental health, and ecosystem vitality in Kuwait

In line with its commitment in addressing urgent sustainability challenges, GUST Center for Sustainable Development is pleased to announce GUST Sustainability Research Awards, aiming to recognize and support outstanding research efforts addressing climate change performance, environmental health, and ecosystem vitality in Kuwait.

Primary objectives

The primary objectives of the award are to:

  1. Motivate researchers to prioritize the following topics (climate change performance, environmental health, and ecosystem vitality in Kuwait) and deliver high-quality, innovative findings.
  2. Recognize Excellence: Acknowledge outstanding research contributions that advance understanding of climate change, environmental health, and ecosystem vitality in Kuwait.
  3. Promote Innovation: Encourage innovative approaches to tackle the challenges posed by climate change and its effects on public health, the environment and ecosystems in Kuwait.
  4. Foster Collaboration: Enhance partnerships among academic institutions, international organizations, and community stakeholders to promote a collaborative research environment.

Winners

First Place Winner: The first winning article will receive a cash prize of 1200 KWD, recognizing outstanding research contributions in climate change performance, environmental health, and ecosystem vitality in Kuwait.

Second Place Winner: The second winning article will receive a cash prize of 800 KWD, acknowledging significant research efforts in these critical areas.

Award Criteria

Proposals from interested scholars around the world will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance: The research must address significant issues related to climate change performance, environmental health, and ecosystem vitality in Kuwait.
  • Originality: The research should present novel approaches that contribute to the existing body of knowledge.
  • Impact: The research should highlight its influence on policymaking, practice, and public awareness regarding climate, ecosystems and environmental issues in Kuwait.
  • Methodological Rigor: The use of sound research methodologies and frameworks.
