What Is STEPS and What It Offers
STEPS, is a premier provider of professional evaluation and assessment services in Kuwait, which provides students and professionals with a secure testing environment with highest levels of testing standards maintained.
STEPS offers a secure & quiet environment with technologically advanced testing facility for Computer-Based Tests (CBT) and a traditional paper-and-pencil testing facility.
STEPS offers a wide-range of services to University stakeholders, Corporate and Professionals to gauge competency knowledge and skills for evaluation purposes.
STEPS also manages Microsoft Imagine Academy & CISCO NetAcademy for its students and provides industry certifications through academies.
STEPS follows a strict code of conduct for all tests and exams conducted at its testing center to ensure secured and reliable testing services.
Academic Services
Assessments & Exams
STEPS provides the services of conducting assessments & exams for students. These assessments are usually done at the request of the faculty throughout the course. These include assignments such as quizzes, online tests and written tests.
Some assessment items in a course are compulsory, which means if a student doesn't pass or completes it, he/she may fail the course. These could be anything from practicums, to laboratory work or a final exam.
To conduct an assessment or exam for students, faculties are required to get an approval letter from the Head of the Department / Dean of College / Director or Vice President of Academic Affairs in order to schedule an exam for the student.
IT Academies
STEPS hosts IT Academies at GUST. These IT academies provide GUST students with online access to rich content from global leaders in education. IT Academies helps students to understand concepts from basics to professional levels which enhances the student’s skills in their respective areas.
STEPS currently hosts the following IT Academies:
- Microsoft IT Academy
- CISCO NetAcademy
In addition to the above, GUST also conducts online student placement tests on ACCUPLACER, approved by College Board – USA, Prevue Psychometric Testing and KAPLAN International Tools for English Test.
Corporate Services
Corporate Sectors have recently began using Testing Services for various reasons. STEPS delivers testing services to corporate and government organizations by providing discipline tests (majors) for recruitment campaigns. This includes the following:

- English Language Tests
- Job-Candidate Testing Services (Individual & Group)

We are based in the main building (W3) on the west side, located in W3-101. If you enter from the West Gate entrance, you would find an escalator taking you up on the first floor. To sign up for an exam all you have to do is to call us on our number and talk to one of our staff. They will assist you in registration for your exam and provide you with a most convenient time and date so that you can take your exam at our Testing Center without any hassle.
