About the FabCity:

Cities Produce “Almost” Everything They Consume

Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) is driving Kuwait’s integration into the Fab City Network by fostering awareness, collaboration, and innovation. The Fab City Symposium 2025 connects local Fab Labs, promotes distributed production, and explores sustainable solutions. GUST is also developing a strategic roadmap linking academia, industry, and policymakers to position Kuwait as a key player in the global Fab City movement.

The main objectives we envision for the symposium:

Introducing Fab City: Educating participants about the Fab City concept and its goals.
Connecting Local Fab Labs: Establishing a collaborative network among Kuwait’s Fab Labs to explore how we can collectively contribute to the global Fab City initiative
Utilizing Distributed Production Systems: Exploring how distributed production, supported by local resources, can drive sustainability and innovation in Kuwait.
Future Planning: Developing a roadmap for Kuwait’s potential transition into the Fab City network, fostering links between academia, industry, and policymakers
